Hale, un piccolo giornalista prestato più alle campagne pubblicitarie che non ai reportage, sa di dover morire, una volta sceso alla stazione di Brighton - la Brighton colorata delle vacanze inglesi ma che qui diventa, grazie al tocco pittorico della penna di Graham Greene, un labirinto cupo e grigio, una perfetta «Greeneland». La fine violenta di Hale è dettata da una lotta tra bande criminali, e diventa il motivo scatenante di una trama doppia e nerissima. Da un lato l'indagine della strana Ida Arnold che vuole svelare l'omicidio. Ida è una specie di materialista magica, è atea ma devota a piccoli rituali superstiziosi. Dall'altro lato c'è Pinkie, il Ragazzo, il vero protagonista, che si trova a essere un giovanissimo capobanda. Con tutti i mezzi, con nuove efferatezze agisce per coprire le tracce..

The A Night at the Opera Tour (advertised as A Night at the Opera with Queen) was a concert tour by Queen to promote A Night at the Opera. It spanned 1975 and 1976, and covered the UK, the US, Japan, and Australia. It marked the debut of "Bohemian Rhapsody", which would be played at every Queen gig thereafter.
Also in September 1976, already during the session of the album A Day At The Races, the band played several concerts in the UK. This little tour was called Summer '76.
