Eilis Lacey followed her sister, Rose's, plan to leave Ireland and find a better future and job in the US. She departs terribly, enduring seasickness and a terrible relationship with her cabin mates. A kind traveler gives her advice to live in Brooklyn, where many Irish immigrants live. Eilis settles in Brooklyn and becomes close to Father Flood, a Catholic priest. She gets a job in a department store and falls in love with an Italian boy named Tony. News from home sends Eilis back to Ireland, away from Tony.

The profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

The '60s pop outfit Brooklyn Bridge were led by Johnny Maestro, the former frontman of the Crests. The group was formed on Long Island in 1968 from the ashes of local rivals the Del-Satins (a vocal quartet including Maestro, Fred Ferrara, Mike Gregorio, and Les Cauchi) and the Rhythm Method (musical director Tom Sullivan, guitarist Jim Macioce, organist Carolyn Woods, bassist Jim Rosica, trumpeter Shelly Davis, saxophonist Joe Ruvio, and drummer Artie Cantanzarita).

Like so many of the best adventures, the transatlantic trio of Irish drummer Stephen Davis and American trumpeter and pianist Ralph Alessi and Kris Davis grew organically out of a series of happy accidents… Steve Davis explains: "The group started with me writing some music originally for trumpet and piano. I had written other stuff for my London based group Human, which had a similar vibe but this music was more introvert, had lots of little hidden things within it. I won an Arts Council grant which enabled me to work on my writing and travel a bit, so I headed for New York.

"Brothers" is the fruit of the tandem Portal-Deconfin, two childhood friends from Bourges, who found themselves in New York and who today deliver a common partition logically entitled "Brothers". This album was conceived just a few weeks after the release of the first album of Geraud Portal, Recall the facts. In 2013, Géraud conquered the United States with his double bass. He lands in New York, in the home of the legendary bassist Bill Lee, father of director Spike Lee. In this house, Géraud met other musicians, also hosted by Bill: Arnold Lee (saxophone), Kush Abadey (drums) and Ben Solomon (saxophone), all three members, moreover, of Wallace Roney's band.

A single-camera ensemble comedy following the lives of an eclectic group of detectives in a New York precinct, including one slacker who is forced to shape up when he gets a new boss.
