is a bi-monthly horror comic anthology series that, together with its horror siblings and were published by EC Comics in the early 1950s. hit newsstands with its April/May 1950 issue and ceased publication with its February/March 1955 issue, producing a total of 30 issues. The title was popular, but, in the late 1940s and early 1950s, comic books came under attack from parents, clergymen, schoolteachers, and others who believed the books contributed to illiteracy and juvenile delinquency. In April and June 1954, highly publicized Congressional subcommittee hearings on the effects of comic books upon children left the industry shaken. With the subsequent imposition of a highly restrictive Comics Code, EC Comics publisher William Maxwell Gaines canceled Tales from the Crypt and its two companion titles in September 1954. All three titles have been reprinted at various times since their demise and have been adapted for television and film.

Sheena: Queen of the Jungle Comics Collection
Eng | RS & Hotfile | 11 CBR | Paragon Publications/Devil's Due Publishing | 1999 - Dec 2008 | 154 MB Total

is a fictional, American comic book jungle girl heroine, published originally by Fiction House. She was created by Will Eisner (of the Eisner Awards fame) and S.M. "Jerry" Iger of the comic-book packager Eisner & Iger, one of a handful of studio that produced comics on demand for publishers and syndicates at the time. Sheena possesses the ability to communicate with wild animals after having grown up with them since being orphaned in the jungle. She is quite proficient in fighting with knives, spears, and bows, and a variety of other makeshift weapons. She is the first female comic-book character with her own title, with her Spring 1942 premiere beating (Summer 1942) by three months. A distaff Tarzan, Sheena inspired a wealth of similar comic-book jungle queens. In 2007 Devil's Due Publishing (DDP) acquired the comic book rights to Sheena and began their run of the title. This post includes all the Sheena comics from DDP, plus an added bonus: the comic book anthology , published in 1999 by Paragon Publications featuring a compilation of some of the original Sheena stories issued during the 1940's and edited by Bill Black. The foreword alone by Bill Black and Bill Feret contains a wealth of information. Add to that the reprints of the original black-and-white Sheena stories and what you have is comics history.
