Genre: Vocal Jazz | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: JVC (JVCXR-0037-2)

The deep voice of Carmen Lundy is well showcased on this varied set. With assistance from an impressive backup crew (pianist Billy Childs, flugelhornist Randy Brecker, Frank Foster or Bob Mintzer on tenor, and a pair of rhythm sections), Lundy performs six standards, four of her stimulating originals, and Donny Hathaway's "Flying Easy." The music ranges from fairly straight-ahead to more R&B-oriented, with Carmen Lundy's appealing voice being the main star.
The Kasenetz-Katz Orchestral Cirkus - Classical Smoke (1969) {Super K/Buddah} **[RE-UP]**

The Kasenetz-Katz Orchestral Cirkus - Classical Smoke (1969) {Super K/Buddah}

Genre: psychedelic rock, pop, classical

Classical Smoke is the 1969 album by The Kasenetz-Katz Orchestral Cirkus. The "Cirkus" were a supergroup of sorts originally called the The Kasenetz-Katz Super Circus, sometimes known as The Kasenetz-Katz Singing Orchestral Circus. They were a "powerhouse" formed in the 1960's by producers Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz, and actually were an amalgamation of a number of other groups, including The Ohio Express, The 1910 Fruitgum Company, The Music Explosion, Lt. Garcia's Magic Music Box, The Teri Nelson Group, 1989 Musical Marching Zoo, J.C.W. Ratfinks, and The St. Louis Invisible Marching Band. Were they all one and the same group? Unknown at this time but Classical Smoke was their second and last album, mixing up pop, psychedelic rock with touches of classical influences, which means they could be royalty free. Re-imagine a time when you would slap this record on your phonograph, pour lava lamp juice all over your body to conduct an "Orgy Of Lust". It is orgasmic, isn't it? There may be only 30 minutes and 15 seconds of music but this is 30 minutes and 15 seconds of Classical Smoke, do not over exert yourself. This was released on the Buddah Records subsidiary label Super K, created by Kasenetz and Katz because they were super men.
