"Explorer " is the title of Cerys' fourth solo album and in both choosing and writing the songs she has sub consciously delved into the huge influence of not just all the music she has heard, but the places she has been around the globe, and by the times we live in, but most importantly made an album that over the seven days of recording had no pre determined sound or calculated format.

Reload is a 1999 album by Tom Jones. It contains fifteen duets with a range of artists including Van Morrison, Cerys Matthews, Stereophonics, Robbie Williams and Portishead, recorded with their usual record producers and in their usual studios. The tracks are mainly cover versions, with a new version of one of his own songs, "Looking Out My Window" (1968), and one original track, "Sex Bomb". Reload became the highest seller of Jones' career, reaching number one on the British charts in 1999 and again in 2000. Its biggest single was the collaboration with Mousse T, "Sex Bomb", which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and was later used in a 2003 episode of The Simpsons (a show Jones had guest starred on in 1992). The album has sold more than four million copies worldwide.

Big Boss Man celebrate the launch of their new album (out September 1st 2014) with a one-off show on the Thames in the centre of London - a floating boat-pub, Tamesis Dock is a converted 1930s Dutch barge moored between Lambeth and Vauxhall bridge, with views of Parliament and Big Ben!

Fifty years ago, Cambridge city council stumped up the funds for the first folk festival in the atmospheric grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall. A couple of hundred people gathered around one precarious stage to see a motley selection of singers, including Paul Simon, who earned £15 for his troubles. The whole festival had an unmistakably retro feel, drawing heavily on the spirit of its own history. Two returning heroes, Richard Thompson and Loudon Wainwright, showed that one man, a guitar and a savage set of lyrics can still tear the place apart. Thompson’s daughter, Kami, and her husband James Walbourne’s band, The Rails, followed their outstanding debut album Fair Warning with a confident live set.
