L'anglais a depuis Lines en 2017 fait preuve de ses dons de multi instrumentiste et surtout de sa grande érudition, s'agissant de donner à chacun de ses disques une direction musicale précise et toujours très soigneusement interprétée.

Known for his indie-folk-inspired singer-songwriter music that envelops emotions and moods in intimate, breathtakingly beautiful soundscapes, Cunningham has built a massive following over the years, amassing more than half a billion streams. With 'In Light', he wanted to push boundaries. Inspired - and unsettled - by the rapid development of artificial intelligence, he sought to capture the essence of raw human creativity. The result is a collection of ten tracks, recorded over five weeks in Tottenham, North London. These songs-captured as single takes with minimal editing-immerse the listener in a profound stream of consciousness. Cunningham explores personal truths and reflects on the world's complexities, from the unsettling grip of big data to the hope that genuine human connection still offers. As he sings in 'This I Know', "The best is yet to be / I believe." The album's title, 'In Light', reflects Cunningham's optimism, shining through even in darker moments. "We're here right now / Let's be here again tomorrow," he urges in New Symmetry, concluding with the poignant affirmation, "I am leaving a light on."

Charlie currently splits his time between melancholic piano and the insistent pulse of his already familiar nylon string guitar, delivering extremely characterful songs that are full of feeling and a high level of musical expression. Add to that his warm, distinctive and almost beseeching voice and you have something that is both timeless and blissful.

It’s the drummer’s job to make everyone else in the band sound good, and Charles Rumback does it very well. Whether he’s playing folk rock with the Horse’s Ha, baroque pop with Steve Dawson, or postbop jazz with Dustin Laurenzi or Paul Bedal, his understated propulsion keeps the focus on whoever’s at the front of the bandstand. He’s similarly versatile in the combos that he leads or coleads, but these projects tend to focus on one facet of his talents.

Dreamer Awake' is the fifth album from Rachel Sermanni, her first for Navigator Records (Katherine Priddy, Kitty Macfarlane, Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys, Bellowhead). Hailing from the Scottish highlands, Sermanni is an enchanting singer-songwriter, whose performance and lyrics draw from a deep well of mysticism, dreams, nature and the simple-complex experience of being human; a contemporary folk musician influenced by a wealth of genres including jazz, rock, old-time and traditional.

Singer-songwriter Fenne Lily has been slowly making a name for herself, spreading her melancholy tunes across various venues these past two years as support for artists such as Dodie, Charlie Cunningham and Marlon Williams with only a sample of her music in tow. So it’s been longtime coming for the Bristol-based artist to release a full LP.
