Busted is the eleventh studio album released by Cheap Trick, which was released in 1990 and peaked at number 44 on the US album charts. After the success of "The Flame" from the previous album Lap of Luxury, the band recorded Busted with a similar format, especially on the single "Can't Stop Fallin' Into Love." The single peaked at number 12 on the US charts. Guest musicians on the album include Mick Jones of the band Foreigner (guitar on "If You Need Me"), Chrissie Hynde from Pretenders (vocals on "Walk Away"), and Russell Mael of Sparks (vocals on "You Drive, I'll Steer"). Session musician (and former member of Poco) Kim Bullard played keyboards on the album. The album was certified Gold in Canada in November 1990.

Combining a love for British guitar pop songcraft with crunching power chords and a flair for the absurd, Cheap Trick provided the necessary links between '60s pop, heavy metal, and punk. Led by guitarist Rick Nielsen, the band's early albums were filled with highly melodic, well-written songs that drew equally from the crafted pop of the Beatles, the sonic assault of the Who, and the tongue-in-cheek musical eclecticism and humor of the Move. Their sound provided a blueprint for both power pop and arena rock; it also had a surprisingly long-lived effect on both alternative and heavy metal bands of the '80s and '90s, who often relied on the same combination of loud riffs and catchy melodies. Listen compilation tracks The Epic Archive, Vol. 3 (1984-1992).

Enuff Z'Nuff are largely remembered for their hybrid of psychedelic and hair metal aesthetics during the glam rock heyday fostered by MTV during the late '80s. But peel away the exterior and there's a band ripe with a generous helping of power pop to complement their most well-known songs. So it's only fitting that a greatest-hits compilation acts as more than a marker for their entire career, it helps to break through the hairspray and ambiguous fashions to prove the band can rock just as hard, if not harder, than many of their contemporaries. Of course the biggest hits "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle" start off Greatest Hits with a potent one-two punch, but skip beyond those two tracks and there's a plethora of thoughtful, carefully crafted pop numbers that rock just as much as they strut.
