It's safe to say that many years from now, when the critics and historians have the benefit of distance to help focus their thoughts, many if not most will continue to hail much of saxophonist Joe Lovano's presently-admired body of work on the Blue Note imprint. But what will stand tallest in said discography? Some may continue to laud the bold, rhythmically charged work of his Us Five quintet; others may celebrate his fascinating Trio Fascination outings; and a different faction may extol the virtues of his commanding quartet dates recorded at the hallowed Village Vanguard. There's no shortage of good options in a portfolio that contains more than two dozen offerings and spans more than a quarter century.

As a sideman, Coleman has wielded his powerful tenor alongside such legendary artists as Miles Davis, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Lee Morgan, Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, Cedar Walton, and B.B. King, among many others.

This mid-December 2021 run by PAKT (Percy Jones, Alex Skolnick, Kenny Grohowski, Tim Motzer) was only our second tour together amongst the crazy schedules of all the members. Although a short tour, we all had a blast, and somewhere in there we recorded a studio album in the Catskills too. We traveled in two cars and took in some amazing landscapes amidst great conversation. Some epic shows come to mind like Buffalo, Cleveland, and Rochester but the final show at The Turning Point had a special beautiful vibe, and I felt we hit a lot of fresh new musical territory.

"Street Of Dreams" is Grant Green’s classic. It features fellow virtuosos Bobby Hutcherson, Larry Young and Elvin Jones. The album explores the exhilarating standards “I Wish You Love”, “Lazy Afternoon”, “Street Of Dreams” and “Somewhere In The Night”. "Street Of Dreams" features the band’s uncanny chemistry and delicate nuances. Absolutely essential.
