Combinatorial Analysis

Notwithstanding its title, the reader will not find in this book a systematic account of this huge subject. Certain classical aspects have been passed by, and the true title ought to be "Various questions of elementary combina­ torial analysis". For instance, we only touch upon the subject of graphs and configurations, but there exists a very extensive and good literature on this subject. For this we refer the reader to the bibliography at the end of the volume.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 18th International Workshop on Combinatorial Image Analysis, IWCIA 2017, held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in June 2017. The 27 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 47 submissions.

Covering network designs, discrete convex analysis, facility location and clustering problems, matching games, and parameterized complexity, this book discusses theoretical aspects of combinatorial optimization and graph algorithms.
