Surfing used to be a man's world, especially in music – while the Beach Boys and the Surfaris were catching a wave, landlubbers like Annette Funicello and Donna Loren were back on shore playing Beach Blanket Bingo. The Honeys, then, were something rare: a girl group who specialized in surfing songs like "Shoot the Curl" and "Pray for Surf," which The Honeys themselves composed. When Marilyn Rovell married Brian Wilson, having a familial connection to the Beach Boys certainly didn't hurt. Wilson contributed a handful of songs to the group and helped coordinate some of their sessions early on, and was often on the periphery thereafter. The early Capitol recordings are some of The Honeys' best efforts, and have been anthologized twice.

Famed for their perennial "All Right Now," Free helped lay the foundations for the rise of hard rock, stripping the earthy sound of British blues down to its raw, minimalist core to pioneer a brand of proto-metal later popularized by 1970's superstars like Foreigner, Foghat and Bad Company. Free formed in London in 1968 when guitarist Paul Kossoff, then a member of the blues unit Black Cat Bones, was taken to see vocalist Paul Rodgers' group Brown Sugar by a friend, drummer Tom Mautner.

Glenn Frey has had a mixed solo career, alternating between Top Ten hits and outright commercial disasters. Solo Collection performs a welcome service by collecting the highlights from his decidedly uneven solo albums, including all of his biggest hits. Not only is it a perfect introduction, it's arguably the most consistent solo record Frey ever released.

With this release Aqui, allay aculla, Banda Elastica celebrates its thirtieth anniversary. As fast as possible, our most expensive asset: time, present when we listen to ourselves in retrospective. Diluted decades in a few petrified glimpses with a specific weight and an element of their own… the facts the way they were, no regrets because the past is at its best and what a production to prove it!

Ondine's successful partnership with violinist Christian Tetzlaff continues with a new release. The new recording contains the two Violin Concertos by Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975), two powerful works by the composer originally written for David Oistrakh. Christian Tetzlaff has been considered as one of the world's leading international violinists for many years, and still maintains a most extensive performing schedule. Musical America named him "Instrumentalist of the Year" in 2005 and his recording of the violin concertos by Mendelssohn and Schumann, released on Ondine in 2011 (ODE 1195-2), received the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik". Tetzlaff's recording of the Mozart Violin Sonatas (ODE 1204-2) was chosen Gramophone Magazine's Editor's Choice and Recording of the Month by the BBC Music Magazine. Tetzlaff's previous release on Ondine featuring the Schumann Violin Sonatas (ODE 1205-2) was also chosen Disc of the Month by the Gramophone Magazine.

There are good reasons why the names of all those involved in this album are listed as equal partners. "Moving Times" is the result of real teamwork and is the first production of a newly formed group in which everyone acts on an equal footing. This is not self-evident, because singer Esther Kaiser and guitarist Axel Fischbacher represent two established big names in the German jazz scene, who have been independently leading their own bands for many years and have released a large number of their own albums. The two belong to different generations while bassist Genevieve O’Driscoll and drummer/vibraphonist Michael Knippschild represent another one. That means three generations, two women and two men, and it fits as if there were nothing more normal in the world.
