Computational Methods for Fluid Flow

Computational Methods for Fluid Flow by Roger Peyret , Thomas D. Taylor
English | PDF | 1983 | 364 Pages | ISBN : 354013851X | 30 MB

In developing this book, we decided to emphasize applications and to provide methods for solving problems. As a result, we limited the mathematical devel opments and we tried as far as possible to get insight into the behavior of numerical methods by considering simple mathematical models. The text contains three sections. The first is intended to give the fundamen tals of most types of numerical approaches employed to solve fluid-mechanics problems. The topics of finite differences, finite elements, and spectral meth ods are included, as well as a number of special techniques. The second section is devoted to the solution of incompressible flows by the various numerical approaches. We have included solutions of laminar and turbulent-flow prob lems using finite difference, finite element, and spectral methods. The third section of the book is concerned with compressible flows. We divided this last section into inviscid and viscous flows and attempted to outline the methods for each area and give examples.
Stochastic Models, Information Theory, and Lie Groups, Volume 2: Analytic Methods and Modern Applications

Stochastic Models, Information Theory, and Lie Groups, Volume 2: Analytic Methods and Modern Applications by Gregory S. Chirikjian
English | PDF (True) | 2012 | 460 Pages | ISBN : 0817649433 | 4.3 MB

The subjects of stochastic processes, information theory, and Lie groups are usually treated separately from each other. This unique two-volume set presents these topics in a unified setting, thereby building bridges between fields that are rarely studied by the same people. Unlike the many excellent formal treatments available for each of these subjects individually, the emphasis in both of these volumes is on the use of stochastic, geometric, and group-theoretic concepts in the modeling of physical phenomena.

BIG DATA, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DATA ANALYSIS SET Coordinated by Jacques Janssen
Data analysis is a scientific field that continues to grow enormously, most notably over the last few decades, following rapid growth within the tech industry, as well as the wide applicability of computational techniques alongside new advances in analytic tools. Modeling enables data analysts to identify relationships, make predictions, and to understand, interpret and visualize the extracted information more strategically.
