2008 release, a collection of tracks cut by the veteran bluesman in the '60s for the UK Blues label Blue Horizon. Like many other often forgotten Blues artists of the '20s and '30s, Jones began his recording career in the late '30s, but it wasn't until three decades later that he began to enjoy success in Europe. These recordings are a testament to his many talents. 21 tracks, including previously unreleased takes, are a testament to his talents.

Special edition 180-gram vinyl LP with one 45rpm track and one 78rpm track. Etched. Jack White has long congratulated himself for being a musician who blends the lines between the past and the present. "Lazaretto," the follow-up to his gold-certified debut album, "Blunderbuss," does exactly this. There's blues influences here; there's ballads. There's hip-hop rhythms and then there's sprightly melodies. Drama seems to be key in describing this album, and it makes itself known in the fury essential to each track. The 180-gram LP includes two bonus tracks hidden under the center labels. One hidden track plays at 78 RPM, and one plays at 45 RPM, making this a 3-speed record. Side A plays from the outside in. Dual-groove technology: plays an electric or acoustic intro for 'Just One Drink' depending on where the needle is dropped. The grooves meet for the body of the song. Matte finish on Side B, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record. Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of it's kind on a vinyl record.

his version has a failed runout etched into the label itself as there is no room. It sort of Reads TMR/L
Also no download card unlike the 2014 original issue "Ultra LP" release featuring several special features: Tracks A6 and B7 are locked grooves featuring elements from their respective previous tracks. "High Ball Stepper" doesn't end with a faded-out distortion as in the digital versions, it is locked instead. Tracks A7 and B8 are hidden tracks pressed on their sides' labels, and play at 78 RPM and 45 RPM respectively, thus making the LP a three speed record. Side A's groove is inverted and plays from the inside out. "Just One Drink" consists of two different intros, each in its own groove, with both connecting at the body of the song. BA1 is acoustic, BB1 is electric. Side B has a matte finish, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record. Vinyl is pressed in flat-edged format. Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record. Tracks B3 and B4 are swapped in comparison to the digital editions, and B2 features a slightly longer intro. The vinyl was mastered entirely from analog sources with no additional compression used.

Jazz / Hard Bop / Groove / Underground Soul Jazz / Trombone

The title certainly gets it right – as the set's one of the best (and one of the few) albums that trombonist Curtis Fuller cut in the 70s – a searingly sharp session that really shows a change from some of his Blue Note modes of the 60s! There's a current of righteous energy that moves through the set – and which maybe ties the sound more strongly to the sort of underground soul jazz work being recorded by the Black Jazz label of the period, or maybe like some of the hipper currents over at Prestige – such as Joe Henderson's albums. George Cables plays electric piano on the record – which already sets it apart from Fuller's earlier material – and the tracks are long, loose, and open – and graced with strong solo work from Bill Hardman on trumpet, Ray Moros on tenor, and Bill Washer on guitar. Yet perhaps strongest of all in shaping the record is the work of the rhythm duo Stanley Clarke on bass and Lenny White on drums – both working together here at an early point in their careers, but already hinting at the greatness to come. A very different album for Curtis Fuller.
