Coverdale and Page (sometimes written Coverdale•Page) is an album by former Deep Purple and Whitesnake lead vocalist David Coverdale and former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page (as Coverdale and Page), released by Geffen Records on 15 March 1993.
Adding to the Led Zeppelin sound of this album was the John Bonham-influenced and former Montrose drummer Denny Carmassi.
According to David Coverdale, the traffic sign shown on the cover of the album signified "two roads joining to one road. Try to express unification or joining together."
The album reached #4 in the UK and #5 on the US Billboard 200 chart, while the first single released, "Pride and Joy", although barely making a dent on the pop charts, reached the #1 spot on the Album Rock Tracks chart for six weeks.
Trouble is the first studio album from British hard rock band Whitesnake, led by former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale. It reached No. 50 on the UK Albums Chart when it was released in October 1978. This followed the 4 track EP Snakebite, later available in the US as an import album from continental Europe.
This is also the first Whitesnake album to feature Coverdale's former bandmate in Deep Purple, Jon Lord.
Essential: a masterpiece of rock music.
OK, it might not be prog, but anyone who really loves rock music should get this album. This is the reason behind the five stars: "Burn" is a classic, no more, no less, and there's a lot in it for prog lovers to appreciate - for one thing, the interplay between Lord and Blackmore, and Paice's amazing (as always) drum work.
