A prolific electronic producer and keyboardist from London, Paul Hardcastle has enjoyed over three decades of popularity with his varied dance-, R&B-, and jazz-influenced albums. Although often associated with the smooth jazz genre, Hardcastle's synth-based style is more akin to instrumental dance music and electro-R&B with the occasional vocal and saxophone flourishes. Initially emerging with his breakthrough single "19" off 1985's Hardcastle, he gained wider success with the launch of his crossover Jazzmasters album in 1993, which hit number one on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. Over the years, he has continued to diversify his offerings, issuing regular volumes across several series including Top 20-charting albums like 2002's Hardcastle 3, 2013's The Chill Lounge, Vol. 2, and 2014's Movin & Groovin.

earMUSIC and Deep Purple have worked on a Limited Edition Series, made of very rare live recordings from the band's archive. 20,000 numbered CDs and 2,000 numbered Red LPs will be available worldwide for each release, until sold out. The series will concentrate on the last three decades of concerts around the world, starting with an explosive show in Newcastle, Australia recorded in 2001. Some of the shows have been previously available as very rare fan club editions, others will be released for the very first time. All recordings are being remastered for the best audio quality possible. About the first chapter of the series Roger Glover commented: “After touring Australia in the early 70s, we returned in 1999 with Steve Morse on guitar. Australia had given us a great welcome back and for this night in 2001, we felt like doing something different, so we added singers and a horn section. A rare night and a special gig.”

Here we present the very best of Ian’s solo recordings - an intoxicating mixture of hard rock, blues and even the occasional pop song.
