Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Terence McCullagh (Tully McCully) is a legend in the South African music scene with many hits to his name. Gordon Mackay is a British classically schooled virtuoso electric keyboard player, known for his involvement in the Johannesburg prog/classical rock scene with his brother Duncan as well as his compositions for film, TV and ballet.
Tully and Gordon have performed together in McCully Workshop, but what they are offering this time is very different to the sort of music they do in their band. Tully started out recording this new material on his own and then saw that it would be appropriate to have an instrument that is featured in solos and special parts of the songs…
Following the ambitious song cycle Nude, Camel attempted their version of an Alan Parsons Project album with The Single Factor. Considering that Parsons was having hits that year with songs like "Eye in the Sky," it's not surprising that Camel tried to capture the same audience, yet their talent didn't lay with pop music – it lay with atmospheric instrumentals and creating detailed soundscapes. Consequently, The Single Factor sounds a little forced and often fails to capture the group's magic, even though there a few strong moments on the record.
Pyramid is the third album by progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1978. It is a concept album centred on the pyramids of Giza. At the time the album was conceived, interest in pyramid power and Tutankhamun was widespread in the US and the UK. Pyramid was nominated for the 1978 Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
Bloody Tourists was the sixth studio album by 10cc and the second to be produced following the band's 1976 split. It yielded the singles "Dreadlock Holiday", which reached No.1 in the UK in August 1978, and "Reds in My Bed", which did not chart.
The eighth studio album by 10cc, first issued in 1980 and a UK No.35 hit, gets a welcome overhaul courtesy of 7T's Records having been deleted for nearly a decade. Includes the singles "One-Two-Five" and "It Doesn't Matter At All". Also features two rare bonus tracks.
