Ellicott City, Maryland’s The Dangerous Summer are named for the Ernest Hemingway book of the same name, and claim a multitude of influences ranging from Third Eye Blind and Bright Eyes to Jimmy Eat World and Andrew McMahon. Formed back in 2006 while still in high school, the boys found themselves signed to Hopeless Records by 2007 and released their full-length debut, Reach for the Sun, by 2009. War Paint arrived in 2011 and 2013’s Golden Record would follow. Furthermore, the band would see stints on The Bamboozle, as well as Warped Tour, before going on a nearly five year hiatus.

The Gap: A paramedic's summer on the edge by Benjamin Gilmour
English | August 6th, 2019 | ISBN: 1760890200 | 304 pages | EPUB | 0.50 MB

In this riveting memoir, Gilmour recounts the call-outs that summer: some dangerous, some gruesome, some downright ridiculous. And we meet fellow paramedic Tom who, they say, can get a laugh out of everyone except the dead. As the city heats up that summer, however, even Tom begins to lose his sense of humour. People are unravelling - and Benjamin and Tom are no exception.

Paul Jilbert has produced a relaxing 78-minute eye opening celebration of the work of one of America’s greatest living artists. No lover of movie poster art or for that matter, art lover should be without. Remarkable work lovingly showcased. Jilbert has created a superb documentary that pays tribute to the masterful artist Robert McGinnis, who painted some of the most legendary movie posters and pop culture paperback covers of the 1960s and 1970s before largely concentrating on his current work relating to the American West.

Through his many fascinating and compelling documentaries, Louis Theroux has made the off-beat, the unsavoury and the less-visited aspects of life his own domain. Through his unique intimate, un-confrontational interviewing style, Louis is able to present intense and surprisingly revealing portraits of the most disparate of subjects.

The record cover shows a woman walking towards dusk - or is it dawn. Two years after the success of Night Moves, a wander through a threatening nocturnal Los Angeles, H Burns returns with a new record for twilight. Kid We Own the Summer finds its identity between a few landmarks such as David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti's California, the intimacy of Bruce Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of Town, the relative calmness of Suicide's second album, and the elegant melancholy of The National. In order to compose, Renaud Brustlein aka H Burns decided to reinvent himself once again. He didn't repeat the live configuration that he used in 2013 with Off the Map, an 'electric storm' recorded in Chicago, with a band, in a single week, with the legendary Steve Albini.
