Daniel Ross

Daniel Pemberton has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming heist comedy drama Ocean’s 8. The film is directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. The movie is a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh’s Oceans trilogy and revolves around eight women who plan and execute a heist in New York. Ross also co-wrote the screenplay with Olivia Milch (Dude). Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brockovich) is producing the project with Jon Kilik (Foxcatcher, 25th Hour, Babel). Nicholas Britell was originally attached to score the film as reported last year. "Ross" is a 1983 album by the American entertainer Diana Ross, her third released on the RCA label. It was released shortly before Ross gave a pair of free concerts in New York's Central Park. The album reached #32 on the US charts, #14 on the US R&B charts and #44 in the UK. The album's highest international chart position was in Sweden, where it reached #7. Five of the eight tracks were produced by Gary Katz, two by Ray Parker Jr. and one by Ross. The album's first single, "Pieces of Ice", peaked at #31 on the US charts. Subsequent singles "Up Front" (US R&B #60, UK #79) and "Let's Go Up" (US #77) were also minor hits. "Up Front" was remixed by Jolley & Swain for its European release. The album's final US sales were slightly higher than 250,000 copies.

"Red Hot Rhythm and Blues" is a 1987 studio album by the American singer Diana Ross released via EMI and RCA labels. The album made the charts in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria, as well as reaching the Top 20 in Sweden and Norway. It was Ross's final album for RCA Records. It peaked at #73 on the "Billboard album chart in the US despite an Emmy nominated television special that was a ratings success. It sold around 125,000 copies in the USA. The album included "Dirty Looks" (US R&B #12, UK #49) written by Richard Scher & Lotti Golden, and the ballad "It's Hard for Me to Say", produced by Luther Vandross. It also included cover versions of several R&B classics, including The Bobbettes' "Mr. Lee" (UK #58), Jackie Ross' "Selfish One," Etta James' "Tell Mama", and The Drifters' "There Goes My Baby". A Shep Pettibone remix of "Shockwaves" was released as a single in the UK which peaked at #76.

Award winning blues artist and slide guitarist Daniel Eriksen teams up with drummer Stig Sjøstrøm for this high octane delta style album. Recorded on different locations in Mississippi and Memphis over several years, featuring special guests Fiona Boyes, Bill Abel and Vidar Busk. Grammy winning producer and engineer Matt Ross-Spang recorded the guys at legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. Also from Memphis, are two live recordings from The Orpheum. Bluesman Bill Abel recorded at the countryside in Duncan, Mississippi and Gary Vincent cut a few at Clarksdale Soundstage in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
