Since they first documented their work together on Essentials (Catwalk, 2012), bassist Daniel Schläppi and pianist Marc Copland have refined the musical language of the duo. Essentials was followed by More Essentials (Catwalk, 2015) and saw the establishment of a pattern: standards, original compositions, compositions played by Miles Davis and, not least, compositions played by pianist Bill Evans' famous trio with drummer Paul Motian and bassist Scott LaFaro.

New York based Pianist Marc Copland and Swiss Bassist Daniel Schläppi started their woderful musical collaboration in 2010. In 2012 they released their much acclaimed album "Essentials", an exquisite collection of original compositions and standards belonging to "most beautiful duo recordings in recent Jazz history", as one German critic stated. Next Stop Olten is very pleased to have Marc and Daniel for a concert in town. All it takes is a piano and a bass and the magic journey may begin.
