The 100th edition of Now That’s What I Call Music! is just around the corner, but first, the tracklisting of the next massive 2CD instalment has been unveiled. Now 99, released on March 23, features 18 UK Top 10 singles, plus a further 27 songs of the moment in true Now fashion. Huge top flight hits from the likes of Dua Lipa, Rudimental, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Camila Cabello are featured, while the latest songs from music royalty such as Kylie Minogue, U2, Justin Timberlake and P!nk also make an appearance.
Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story, The Soundtrack is all set for release through Universal Music on 8 June 2018. The soundtrack album accompanies the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story which will also be released with new exclusive content on the same day. The soundtrack will be the first official career retrospective compilation for the guitar virtuoso. As well as key tracks from Mick Ronson’s solo records, the compilation includes material from his key collaborations with David Bowie, Elton John, Ian Hunter, Queen and Michael Chapman.
This and the very first time it’s not compiled by Michael Reinboth, rather by Benjamin Fröhlich and Tom Bioly, the founders and masterminds behind Permanent Vacation. Why? Simply because they both are very close friends of the Compost famlee, with an amazing musical and DJ-like tastefulness, with the knowledge-based trust of music in the vein of vibrant, jazzy electronica hybrids. And they are from Compost Records’ hometown Munich, too. Maybe Volume 14 differs slightly to what the previous 13 brought up music-wise, but that’s the score, idea and open mindedness of this series, as it was by the compilers, and last but not least a great time for a change, too.
