This newly expanded 4 CD collection includes tracks from main protagonist Steve Wynn’s earlier combo 15 Minutes, the debut EP, astounding cover renditions (Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, The Who), recordings of the band’s first ever rehearsal, along with several visceral live concerts from the pre-album era.

On the one hand, where the Dream Syndicate came from was so obvious that it almost hurt. The Velvet Underground was a clear touchstone (if not quite the original LaMonte Young ensemble the band name referred to), as were the Doors, the Byrds, and any number of blues and country traditions and more. Had they been around in the late '60s, one might have wondered whether they would have garnered much attention in comparison. But the early '80s was the band's time and place, and their fusions of all the above and more via punk-inspired energy achieved its own level of deserved attention.

This album is a selection of recordings made by Ben Webster after he had moved to Europe late 1964. In 1964 Ben Webster had lost his popularity in the USA because jazz was no longer popular music; Rock and Roll was top of the bill. Ben had sever financial problems, because he spent more money than he earned and didn't found gigs, because he asked too much money to perform. It was a luck for him that Ronnie Scott, the famous London saxophone player asked him to come to London for an engagement in his Ronny Scott Jazz Club for one month and in December 1964 Ben shipped in in New York heading for London………..

Days of Wine and Roses is a 2023 stage musical with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, and a book by Craig Lucas. It is based on the 1962 film of the same name, which itself is based on the 1958 teleplay of the same name.
