Creatures of the Night is the tenth studio album by American heavy metal band Kiss, released in 1982. It is the band's last for Casablanca Records, the only label for which Kiss had recorded up to this point. The album was dedicated to the memory of Casablanca founder and early Kiss supporter Neil Bogart, who had died of cancer during the recording sessions. It is also the band's last album recorded with Ace Frehley credited as an official member (until 1998's Psycho Circus), and its first album with Vinnie Vincent as the initially uncredited lead guitarist (Vincent would later be credited but not featured on the cover of the 1985 reissue of the album). It was also the band's last album to feature the band with their trademark makeup until Psycho Circus was released.

The Circle Jerks are an American punk band, formed circa 1979 in Hermosa Beach, California. It was formed by Black Flag's original singer, Keith Morris, and future Bad Religion guitarist Greg Hetson. They were among the preeminent hardcore punk bands of the L.A. scene in the early 1980s.

Mutiny On The Mamaship is the debut album by former Parliament-Funkadelic drummer Jerome Brailey and his band Mutiny. The album was released by Columbia Records in 1979. The album was released a year after Brailey left P-Funk due to a financial dispute.

In 1985, Gregory Gibson was sent a handwritten journal discovered by a small-time book dealer in rural Indiana. It turned out to be a young officer’s account of an 1825 naval expedition dispatched to the Pacific with orders to apprehend the perpetrators of the Globe mutiny. The mutiny was notorious as the goriest crime in American maritime history, involving hatchet murders, stabbings, shootings, and a shipboard lynching. The long-lost journal provided the first eyewitness account of the fate of the mutineers, and of the innocent men left at the mercy of the tattooed islanders who adopted and enslaved them.
