Eden is the debut studio album by British musical duo Everything but the Girl. It was released on 4 June 1984 by Blanco y Negro Records. The album contains the single "Each and Every One", which peaked at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart. The cover design was by lead singer Tracey Thorn's former colleague in the Marine Girls, Jane Fox. By 2012, Eden had sold around 500,000 copies. Eden was reissued in 2012 as a remastered edition by Edsel Records.

How true is reality, what is appearance, what is being? A question that Paul Watzlawick already dealt with in the mid-1970s. In his book, How Real Is Real, first published in 1976, the famous psychologist and communication scientist argued that there is no genuine reality, but that it is always the result of interpersonal communication. A reality manipulated by delusion, deception and understanding. An issue that has been increasingly discussed not only in politics since the presidency of Donald Trump. Manipulation has long been part of daily life in the music business, says Sigi Busch. The composer and double bass player has been on stage all over the world for five decades, and has written numerous musical textbooks. He wants to know his album title "How Real is Real" with a wink.

Some musical constellations are so obvious that the question arises why they hadn’t become reality long ago. And when they finally do see the light of day, they appear so familiar to us as if we’d known them for ages. One of these constellations is the duo formed by the Berlin trumpeter Till Brönner and the Freiburg bass player Dieter Ilg. They are, in the full sense, soul-mates, no matter how threadbare the term might sound. They often seek to do the very same thing on their antithetical instruments, even if they express it in quite different ways. As a result, they fit each other to a tee. This osmosis is now plain to hear on their joint début album, Nightfall.
