Originally released in 1970, Afreaka! was the sole album by Demon Fuzz, an Afro Rock band who made their mark by signing to Pye Records Progressive imprint Dawn. Like Osibisa this band was made up of a group of young blacks who had immigrated to London. A melding of rock, jazz and African influences, the album was a funky masterpiece. Recently re-evaluated and sampled by many DJs of a new generation.

Back in the late Sixties Demon Fuzz was one of the most distinctive British Afro-Rock acts of the time, a seven piece group formed by young musicians immigrated to England from Commonwealth countries. After a period of local shows and during a trip to Morocco, the band began messing up with Arab scales and tribal rhythms and eventually got to a very peculiar blend of Funk, Rock, Jazz and African Music elements. Even though Demon Fuzz's time was short. After their iconic first album (Afreaka) the group disbanded in 1972 and it was not before 1976 that their second album, Roots and Offshoots, was self-published on the mysterious Paco Media Inc label.

DJs like Gilles Petersen have been hip to the seven-piece wonder band Demon Fuzz for years, and as of the 21st century - now that everybody's put away their James Brown records for sampling - other club jocks are getting into the act of sampling this incredibly rare LP. Afreaka! was the only release by Demon Fuzz. Released in 1970, Afreaka! is a wild mash of Afro-Latin funk, breakbeats, tripped-out soul, jazz fusion, and psychedelic journeying. These seven black musicians took on everything that was happening, and were musicians enough to make it work for them. Most tracks run in the eight- and nine-minute range and get down with tough drums at the core, with rhythmic shifts happening on a grooved dime…

Cave Of Clear Light is a 3CD Anthology that tells the story of the Underground years of the Pye record label and its Progressive imprint Dawn Records. Often unfairly seen as a poor relation to the Progressive and Underground releases by major labels such as Decca, Harvest, Vertigo, Island and United Artists, Pye Records also released many albums and singles by artists who were at the forefront of the Underground rock explosion of the late 1960 s and early 1970 s. Cave Of Clear Light re-appraises the labels output and features tracks by artists such as Donovan, Status Quo, Man, Atomic Rooster and Fruupp, also including many rare tracks by highly collectable artists such as Jonesy, David Mcwilliams, Stray, Paul Brett's Sage, Fire, Titus Groan, Demon Fuzz, Noir, Comus, Gravy Train, Writing On The Wall and many more…

UK three CD set. One Way Glass is a very different kind of RPM compilation. Instead of the usual cross-section of '60s collectables, this unique release takes a fresh look at British music from the late '60s through to the mid-'70s, with an eye on overlooked dancefloor-friendly finds. The rhythmic backbone of One Way Glass lies in progressive rock outfits who - every so often - would emulate their jazz heroes and record funky sides tucked away on albums or B-sides. Many of these tracks (Jonesy, Hardin & York) have been known to collectors of Funky Breaks for years. In addition, One Way Glass boasts some excellent funky Folk tracks which lighten the load for the listener - tracks by Alan James Eastwood, Bridget St. John, Dana Gillespie, Joan Armatrading and Melanie, for example. More typical funk rock selections come from Hanson (featuring future Bob Marley & The Wailers mainstay Junior Marvin on guitar) and Curtis Knight Zeus (fronted by Jimi Hendrix's old bandmate and featuring future Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke). Maybe it all started - in terms of breaks and hip hop culture, at least - with DJ Kool Herc, who would spin key segments from old rock records to create the funky break.
