"One World in Eight - The String Summit" from violinist Didier Lockwood is a sublime conversation in the universal language of jazz, performed by an all-star lineup of international musicians from seven European countries and the US, all major names on the international scene. The results: an amazing mixture of modern jazz, fusion and the avant-garde.

Following his first two albums' Prologue '(2002) and' September Sound '(2004) as a leader, he signed on the label Fresh Sound New Talent with' Maria '(2007),' Lines' (2010), ' The Option '(2012) and' Wink '(2015).

19 July 1944, Arcy sur Cure, France. Levallet is largely a self-taught bass player who studied journalism at L’Ecole Superieure de Journalisme de Lille (1963-66) and went on for a short time to study bass at Lille Conservatory. He moved to Paris in 1969 and played with a wide range of local and visiting musicians including Ted Curson, Hank Mobley, Mal Waldron and Johnny Griffin. He worked with the free-jazz quartet Perception through the 70s and worked in the USA with tenor saxophonist Byard Lancaster (1974-76).

Hammond organ, guitar and drums, a special trio with three quirky French top musicians, who already have their own punishment course and now debut together as Clover Trio. Drummer Benoist Raffin played with saxophonist Steve Potts, is part of the quartet of singer Pierre de Trégomain, and Healing Unit of Paul Wacrenier. Raffin, pupil of Daniel Humair and Simon Goubert, seeks out nuance, phrasing and swing such as his drum heroes Max Roach, Elvin Jones and Roy Haynes.

There are not many saxophonists who have such a unique sound and clear structures in their language of music at a relatively young age. David Fettmann is only 37, and the "Ruby Project" only his second album under his own name.

These three have in common the fact that they are among the most sought after French musicians on the Jazz scene. Claude Nougaro, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tania Maria, Vince Mendoza and Didier Lockwood are a sample of the many artists who have surrounded themselves with their talents, on stage or in the studio.

One of the great fusion saxophonists, Bob Malach made the move from his hometown of Philadelphia to NYC in 1976. He soon found work with the likes of Stanley Clarke and Alphonse Mouzon (he’s featured on Mouzon’s MPS release Baby Come Back), and was in the studio with Stevie Wonder, Spyro Gyra and the Brecker Brothers. For the first album under his own name, Malach assembled a group of well-known playmates: John Lee and drummer Gerry Brown were high school buddies, and he and keyboardist Jasper van’t Hof had worked together in Mouzon’s group.
