Partial Differential Equations III: Nonlinear Equations, Third Edition by Michael E. Taylor
English | PDF (True) | 2023 | 774 Pages | ISBN : 3031339274 | 10 MB

The third of three volumes on partial differential equations, this is devoted to nonlinear PDE. It treats a number of equations of classical continuum mechanics, including relativistic versions, as well as various equations arising in differential geometry, such as in the study of minimal surfaces, isometric imbedding, conformal deformation, harmonic maps, and prescribed Gauss curvature. In addition, some nonlinear diffusion problems are studied. It also introduces such analytical tools as the theory of L^p Sobolev spaces, Holder spaces, Hardy spaces, and Morrey spaces, and also a development of Calderon-Zygmund theory and paradifferential operator calculus. The book is targeted at graduate students in mathematics and at professional mathematicians with an interest in partial differential equations, mathematical physics, differential geometry, harmonic analysis, and complex analysis.

Differential Equations, Third Edition by Shepley L. Ross
English | February 6th, 1984 | ISBN: 0471032948 | 818 Pages | PDF | 45.07 MB

This revised introduction to the basic methods, theory and applications of elementary differential equations employs a two part organization. Part I includes all the basic material found in a one semester introductory course in ordinary differential equations. Part II introduces students to certain specialized and more advanced methods, as well as providing a systematic introduction to fundamental theory.

Applied Partial Differential Equations, Third Edition By J. David Logan
English | PDF | 2015 | 294 Pages | ISBN : 3319124927 | 4.46 MB

This textbook is for the standard, one-semester, junior-senior course that often goes by the title "Elementary Partial Differential Equations" or "Boundary Value Problems". The audience consists of students in mathematics, engineering, and the sciences. The topics include derivations of some of the standard models of mathematical physics and methods for solving those equations on unbounded and bounded domains, and applications of PDE's to biology. The text differs from other texts in its brevity; yet it provides coverage of the main topics usually studied in the standard course, as well as an introduction to using computer algebra packages to solve and understand partial differential equations.

Stochastic Differential Equations: An Introduction with Applications, Third Edition  eBooks & eLearning

Stochastic Differential Equations: An Introduction with Applications, Third Edition

Stochastic Differential Equations: An Introduction with Applications, Third Edition by Bernt Øksendal
English | PDF | 1992 | 240 Pages | ISBN : 3540533354 | 12 MB

From the reviews to the first edition: Most of the literature about stochastic differential equations seems to place so much emphasis on rigor and completeness that it scares the nonexperts away. These notes are an attempt to approach the subject from the nonexpert point of view.: Not knowing anything … about a subject to start with, what would I like to know first of all. My answer would be: 1) In what situations does the subject arise ? 2) What are its essential features? 3) What are the applications and the connections to other fields?" The author, a lucid mind with a fine pedagocical instinct, has written a splendid text that achieves his aims set forward above. He starts out by stating six problems in the introduction in which stochastic differential equations play an essential role in the solution. Then, while developing stochastic calculus, he frequently returns to these problems and variants thereof and to many other problems to show how thetheory works and to motivate the next step in the theoretical development. Needless to say, he restricts himself to stochastic integration with respectto Brownian motion. He is not hesitant to give some basic results without proof in order to leave room for "some more basic applications"… It can be an ideal text for a graduate course, but it is also recommended to analysts (in particular, those working in differential equations and deterministic dynamical systems and control) who wish to learn quickly what stochastic differential equations are all about. Numerical Models for Differential Problems, Third Edition By Alfio Quarteroni
English | PDF | 2017 | 690 Pages | ISBN : 3319493159 | 26.69 MB

In this text, we introduce the basic concepts for the numerical modeling of partial differential equations. We consider the classical elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic linear equations, but also the diffusion, transport, and Navier-Stokes equations, as well as equations representing conservation laws, saddle-point problems and optimal control problems. Furthermore, we provide numerous physical examples which underline such equations.
