Retaining producer Glyn Johns and some of the same session players from her last record, Show Some Emotion repeated that album's chart success and included two more terrific singles in the same vein: "Show Some Emotion" and "Willow." However, the rest of the album sounds like outtakes from that effort. Gone is the smooth, honeyfied flow of Joan Armatrading; the lyrics seem to lack a sense of meter, the songs occasionally rely on pedestrian R&B arrangements to move them along, and the buoyant melodies are few and far between.

Jerome John Garcia was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for his work as the lead guitarist and as a vocalist with the band the Grateful Dead. One of its founders, Garcia performed with the Grateful Dead for their entire thirty-year career (1965–1995). Garcia also founded and participated in a variety of side projects, including the Jerry Garcia Band, the Saunders–Garcia Band (with longtime friend Merl Saunders), Old and in the Way, the Garcia/Grisman acoustic duo, Legion of Mary, and the New Riders of the Purple Sage. This Hi-Res collection of the recently launched archival series presents the Jerry Garcia Band's hystorical performances during '70-'90.

The career of Fefe Dobson has been an extended rollercoaster ride of chart-crashing highs and momentum-killing lapses during which entire albums have been shelved or scrapped. Work on the follow-up to 2010’s hit-stacked Joy—on which Toronto’s high priestess of pop-punk surrendered fully to the former half of that genre equation—initially commenced in 2013, resulting in a handful of teaser singles, like “Legacy” and “Celebrate,” that betrayed a similarly maximalist aesthetic.

"Emotion" was the big platinum hit from January of 1978, but there is much more to this artist and this album than a popular title track. There are three Bee Gees compositions here, "The Love Of A Woman," "Charade" and "Emotion." The Bee Gees would put a version of "Charade" on their boxed set, but it appears here first. She covers the Lai/Evans/Wells tune "When Love Is Gone," and that title gets the same production help from producers Barry Gibb, Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson that brought "Emotion" so high up the charts.

"Emotion" (stylized as E•MO•TION) is the third studio album by Canadian multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen. Looking to transition from the "pure pop"-oriented nature of "Kiss", Jepsen found inspiration in 1980s music and alternative styles.
