Disco Greatest Hits

Named for their producer, Ritchie Rome, the group was created by the late Jacques Morali (died of AIDS in 1991), who also thought up the Village People. The original trio was Cheryl Jacks, Cassandra Wooten, and Gwen Oliver. They were disco mavens, built to produce dance floor fodder and scored a smash single with "The Best Disco in Town," a medley of disco hits reworked by the ladies. When disco died, so did the group.

Paul Mazzolini (born 18 February 1960), known by his stage name Gazebo, is an Italian singer, songwriter, musician and record producer who gained world-wide fame with his italo disco music style during the 1980s. His song "I Like Chopin" reached No. 1 in more than 15 countries.

Formed as a jazz ensemble in the mid-'60s, Kool & the Gang became one of the most inspired and influential funk units during the '70s, and one of the most popular R&B groups of the '80s after their breakout hit "Celebration." Just as funky as James Brown or Parliament (and sampled almost as frequently), Kool & the Gang relied on their jazz backgrounds and long friendship to form a tightly knit group with the interplay and improvisation of a jazz outfit, plus the energy and spark of a band with equal ties to soul, R&B, and funk.
