Midnight Riot's ongoing 'Disco Made Me Do It' compilation series reaches volume seven. Like its' predecessors, the 20-track set prioritises fun and frolics, blurring the boundaries between disco, electrofunk, nu-disco and house via a mixture of unreleased cuts, high-grade remixes, exclusives and familiar favourites. There's naturally tons to get the blood pumping throughout, with the many highlights including Opolopo's deliciously squelchy, sun-soaked and soulful take on Danny Kane and Princess Freesia's 'I Love The Way You Do', Yam Who's fantastic, early '80s disco style rework of Bazza Ranks and Venessa Jackson's 'Talk Is Cheap', the synth-heavy nu-disco perfection of Sammy Deuce's 'Give Me Love', and the low-slung, party-starting brilliance of Brothers In Arts' 'We Got The Funk', featuring the distinctive vocals of Freakpower's Ashley Slater.

Highlights include a deliciously deep and woozy, Joey Negro style M+M rub of Soulpersona's "Sunset City", a bouncy, boogie-meets-nu-disco revision of Hypnotic Lovers' "Chemistry" by Birdee, the sax-laden disco-funk shuffle of Stephen King's "Hold On To You", some soaring peak-time disco edit business from Alan Dixon and a suitably cheery, talkbox-sporting rework of an underground disco classic by long-serving edit crew Drop Out Orchestra.

The package is packed full of Dance & Disco classics from the late Seventies. "Dreaming A Dream" kicks this package off with the title track, both the disco and vocal versions of which featured on the album, and was a monster hit in the clubs and reached the Top 5 on the Billboard R&B chart. The album also featured the tracks 'Every Beat Of My Heart' and 'Foxy', also known as 'Foxy Lady'. 'Do It Your Way' featured the R&B hits 'Dancinn' and 'French Way' and the stand out 'Far Out'. Disc Two is the 'Dream World' album in its entirety and the first track is probably the band's most famous track 'Galaxy Of Love'; a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Also 'Say A Prayer For Two' featured on this album.

Union Square Music Presents Greatest Ever Soul & Disco album original hits and the original artists genre Disco, Reggae, RnB, Pop, Blues, Rock.

This compilation covers the hitmaking years of Peter Brown, a musician who had some notable dance music hits in the late '70s and early '80s on the Miami-based TK Records label. This label is best known as the home of funky disco acts like K.C. & the Sunshine Band and Jimmy "Bo" Horne, but Brown's work took a different tack. The songs on Get Funky With Me: The Best of the TK Years pursue slick, carefully crafted sound that has more to do with studio-driven dance acts like Chic. Like Prince, Brown recorded the majority of his instrumentation on his own in a home studio and added frills like orchestration and backup vocals later. The result is a sound that feels lush yet has a hand-crafted touch: "Dance With Me" is a bouncy disco outing that blends sprightly strings with an insistent bass-driven groove, and "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" is a reggae-tinged slice of dance funk that features Brown trading vocals with a brassy female chorus over a sumptuous production full jazzy horns and percolating synthesizers.
