Singer and pianist Michael Feinstein collaborates with legendary composer/conductor/pianist André Previn for an album celebrating Previn's catalog of pop songs. Released on Telarc International, Change of Heart: The Songs of André Previn continues Feinstein's series of recordings that pay tribute to legendary composers and the Great American Songbook; in this case, the melodies are by Previn and the lyrics are by Marilyn & Alan Bergman, Alan Jay Lerner, and Johnny Mercer. The duo plays arrangements of Previn's tunes "Yes," "It's Good to Have You Near Again," "Little Lost Dream," "A Second Chance" (from Two for the Seesaw), "Why Are We Afraid?" (from The Subterraneans), and "You're Gonna Hear from Me" (from Inside Daisy Clover). Also included is an unreleased composition, "The Easy Way," written for the film Valley of the Dolls but not featured in the soundtrack. "Empty Is My Room" and "Goodbye" were written for the film adaptation of Goodbye Mr. Chips, but early in the process Previn was replaced by Leslie Bricusse and John Williams. ~ AllMusic Review by Al Campbell

Before lockdown halted their tour in early 2020, singer Stuart Staples was already nurturing seeds for a different kind of Tindersticks album. If 2019’s No Treasure but Hope saw these mavens of intimate, expansive mood song rediscovering themselves as a unit, the follow-up reconfigures that unit so that everything familiar about Tindersticks sounds fresh again. Released through City Slang on February 19th, Distractions is an album of subtle realignments and connections from a restless, intuitive band: rich in texture and atmosphere, it lives between its open spaces and filigree details, always finding new ways to connect with a song.

Michael Feinstein's label debut for Atlantic was a thematic album of sad love songs, but the emphasis was more on the sweet than the sorrow; this was no album of saloon songs like Frank Sinatra's Only the Lonely. As often as not, Feinstein simply chose songs of not-yet-requited love, like Cole Porter's "Easy to Love" or Leo Robin and Lewis Gensler's "Love Is Just Around the Corner," while he reflected on love's downs as well as its ups in Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen's "But Beautiful."

Scott Walker was an American-born British singer-songwriter, composer and record producer. Originally coming to fame in the mid-1960s singing orchestral pop ballads as the frontman of The Walker Brothers, Walker went on to a solo career, with a series of acclaimed albums, balancing a light entertainment/MOR ballad approach with increasing artistic innovations in arrangement and writing perspective. This Hi-Res collection features his five albums: Scott, 2, 3, 4 and 'Til the Band Comes In.

She is second only to Aretha Franklin as the most-charted female vocalist of all time, with 56 of Warwick's singles making the Billboard Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998 and 80 singles making all Billboard charts combined.
