Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ben Harper has teamed up with celebrated Blues legend Charlie Musselwhite for his Stax Records debut. "Get Up!" is a piercing song-cycle of struggle and heart. This striking mix of blues, gospel and R&B features ten vivid pieces, skillfully rendered in cinematic detail, all written or co-written by Harper. This album is one of the most exciting releases of 2013.

Part harmonica wizard and part rhythmic explorer, Harper is a fiery artist who blurs the lines between rock, folk and blues. His use of the didgeridoo, an indigenous wind instrument of his native Australia, along with his compelling original songwriting and sublime vocals, gives Harper a distinctive sound entirely his own. One of the best-known players of the post-Coltrane generation, Texas tenor saxophonist Billy Harper earned his spurs with Art Blakey, Randy Weston, Gil Evans, and Max Roach. This 1979 album features Harper’s then-current working group. Fellow Texan Malcolm Pinson and Harper have been playing partners since high school. Bassist Wayne Dockery gained recognition through his work with Art Blakey; trumpeter Everett Hollins’ roots are grounded in rhythm and blues including work with the legendary Otis Redding, and pianist Armen Donelian worked with jazz giants Lionel Hampton and Sonny Rollins.

"By My Side" is a twelve song retrospective of unforgettable ballads by genre-bending, Grammy-winning musician and songwriter, Ben Harper. Featuring songs personally selected by Harper, includes classics like "Forever", "Diamonds On The Inside" and "Waiting On An Angel". The album also introduces a brand new recording called "Crazy Amazing" as well as a never-before-released studio version of "Not Fire Not Ice". This is Ben Harper's first-ever career-spanning compilation.

Recorded direct to analogue tape in one week at the end of a long world tour, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals's top 10 release "Lifeline" was an effort to recreate the energy of their acclaimed live show. Many of these songs were written on the road and worked out in sound checks before being committed to tape in a Paris studio. The instrumental track "Paris Sunrise #7" garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
