In its original vinyl form, Dr. Z's Three Parts to My Soul rates among the most valuable British prog albums of all time. But it is a rarity among such rarities in that it is also as good as a high three-figure value leaves you hoping it would be. Dr. Z was discovered by Nirvana UK frontman Patrick Campbell-Lyons, who is also credited as executive producer on the album…

"Three Parts to my Soul" is the debut and sole full-length studio album by UK progressive rock act Dr. Z. The album was released in 1971 by Vertigo. The original version is a rare find (apparently only 80 copies were sold to the public while the rest were destroyed by the record company), but "Three Parts to my Soul" has been re-issued on CD several times and is more readily available in that form. After listening to "Three Parts to my Soul" it´s quite obvious it´s a very unusual progressive rock album from the early seventies. First of all the vocals from Keith Keyes are pretty aggressive for the time (when they are most aggressive it sounds like Johnny Rotten joined the band) and his lyrics feature occult themes. Note the eerie whispering background singing in "Evil Woman's Manly Child". That sounds like evil incarnate if you ask me. Creepy stuff.

The forthcoming full-length album Operation Disco' that Greg Dr Packer has put together for Z Records. On an unstoppable run recently, the quality shows no sign of slowing down as Packer showcases his talent for splicing and dicing tracks. Dr packer also supplies a special continuous mix live from his operating theatre, packed to the absolute brim with Packer & other Z Records back catalogue favourites of his.It has been a huge honour working on the operation disco album compilation for Z Records which has been on my radar for three decades now and is possibly my favourite House & Disco label. Dave Lee is a big inspiration to me as his 1991 Single 'Do What You Feel' was one of the first records to appear in my DJ sets in my earliest days as a working DJ 30 years ago.In 2013 I started to produce music under the 'Dr Packer' name and when I began doing the occasional remix for Z Records, I never imagined it would end up resulting in an album project.

This is a exclusive compilation from DJ Hero Renegade Edition.
Jay-Z's Renegade collection is the first best-of comp of Jigga's career -
though there's reportedly talk of another coming in November - so Jay-Z
sticks to the hits. Eminem, however, opts for deeper cuts and rarities from
his arsenal, including a brand new song called "Taking My Ball" that will
feature exclusively on the DJ Hero Renegade disc. Both rappers hand-selected
their respective track lists.

With the 2016 Ibiza summer season in full swing, Dave 'Joey Negro' Lee has gathered together a bumper collection of label tracks that are currently doing the business on the White Isle. There are few surprises amongst the 28 selections - think swinging piano-house, soulful grooves, sun-kissed broken beat, contemporary disco reworks and synth-heavy boogie-house - but the quality threshold remains remarkably high throughout. Highlights include Lee's glistening 2016 re-rub of his vintage Doug Willis anthem "Spread Love", a deliciously loose and synth-laden Fouk rework of The Sunburst Band, the bad-ass boogie business of Spirit Catcher's "Rendez-Vous", and a killer 1995 rework of Fonda Rae's "Over Like A Fat Rat" from U.S house legend Victor Simonelli.
