2009 two set compilation from the legendary Rock guitarist who has played with Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd and Gary Moore as well as enjoying a successful solo career. This carefully chosen double CD compilation showcases the best of his work from three decades of creativity. It includes his memorable 1983 UK Top Ten hit single Bird Of Paradise and many more tracks from albums made with his own regular White Flames band. Among the 1980s albums that provide a rich source of material for Disc One are White Flames , That Certain Thing , Snowy White , Change My Life and Open For Business . Disc Two covers the period from 1994 to 2005, drawing from Snowy s albums Highway To The Sun , No Faith Required , Little Wing , Keep Out: We Are Toxic , Restless and Way It Is.

Melting is a re-titled reissue of Hypertension's Little Wing. The album isn't among Snowy White's best, but when he and his backing band White Flames inject some adventure into the blues-rock, adding some jazz or worldbeat flavorings, the entire thing becomes more compelling.

When the definitive swamp rocker Tony Joe White signed with Warner Bros. in 1971, it sure seemed like a good idea – while White seemed like an anomaly at Nashville's Monument Records, WB was a label with a reputation for nurturing creative mavericks with a taste for stylistic crossbreeding, and with his soulful, organic fusion of rock, blues, and country sounds, White was as individual as they came in the late '60s and early '70s.

Snowy White has an extensive and impressive CV, serving guitar duties with huge rock acts such as Thin Lizzy (Chinatown and Renegade albums), Pink Floyd (Animals & The Wall tours), Roger Waters, Joan Armatrading, Peter Green and Al Stewart amongst many others. Whilst still to be found touring with Pink Floyd & Roger Waters, Snowy also fronts his own bands 'The White Flames' and 'The Snowy White Blues Project' and has released a number of well received and commercially successful albums and even scored a hit single with the song Bird Of Paradise. 'In Our Time… Live' A Snowy White Blues Project album was recorded in Holland in 2009. Tony Joe White is a genre unto himself. Sure, there are other artists who can approximate White's rich gumbo of blues, rock, country, and bayou atmosphere, but almost 50 years after "Polk Salad Annie" made his name, you can still tell one of his records from its first few moments. 2016's Rain Crow confirms White hasn't lost his step in the recording studio. Produced by his son Jody White, Rain Crow is lean, dark, and tough; the bass and drums (Steve Forrest and Bryan Owings) are implacable and just a bit ominous, like the sound of horses galloping in the distance, while the flinty report of White's guitar sketches out the framework of the melodies and lets the listener's imagination do the rest.

Photogenic session vocalist Karyn White scored a hit in 1987 by lending her vocals to the Jeff Lorber track "Facts of Love." Not long after, her self-titled solo debut propelled her to pop stardom, and was one of the first albums to solidify Babyface and L.A. Reid as top-notch songwriters. The album was lush, state-of-the-art pop R&B at its finest, and scored no less than three pop Top Ten hits for the burgeoning songbird. "The Way You Love Me" and "Secret Rendezvous," which were also big dance hits, were groove-heavy, melodic, and sophisticated, and their success was no doubt aided by White's striking good looks. However, the song that White will probably be best remembered for is the anthemic ballad "Superwoman," a song that touched a chord with working women everywhere, and, likes its predecessors, shot to the pop Top Ten and the top of the R&B charts.
