is a fictional superhero who appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character debuted in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Of course we all know that. We also know that Iron Man has been featured in many ongoing series (now in Volume 5) and has been the subject of many miniseries, one-shots, specilas and too-many retcons (excluding the movies and animations). Well, Fred Van Lente (of fame) and artist Steve Kurth got together for an ongoing series set in continuity but taking place throughout Iron Man history: . The series is an attempt to explain and/or shed light on certain events in the current Marvel Universe (as in the inaugural 5-part story arc, "War of the Iron Men") or takes a closer look at certain hidden chapters in the life of billionaire industrialist Tony Stark who is, as we all know, Iron Man. This is the focus of the second 6-part story arc, "Industrial Revolution." And boy! was I wrong when I first thought this was going to be a dull and uninspired seen-it-all-before series after reading the first two issues. Lente brings a fresh perspective into things while Kurth's photo-realistic style sort of grows on you. And when it's time for the battle armors and the tech weaponry to come into serious play, the artwork pops out of the pages and all you can say is, "Wow!" Believe me when I say Iron Man Legacy really does get better with each issue. All high-quality Minutemen scans.
