Earth Wars

Marvel revisits the scene of the original Secret Wars crossover storyline with ol' webhead taking center stage. This time Spider-Man and Ben Grimm in his human form explore the city of Denver that has been relocated by the Beyonder for Battleworld (for reasons still beyond me) and defend it against a race of aliens, with an unexpected ally. From the hilarious tongue-in-cheek interplay and poking fun of the first issue, the second issue plays it as a straight action story. For me the funniest part is still why Denver, of all places..? I'll withhold further comment.

Filled with smoke and fire, the sky is littered with ships hovering above for miles in every direction. These ships reap the Earth of all its resources, while drones patrol the now ruined cities.
