This book introduces readers to the press release work carried out by Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China in 2018. It is divided into 3 parts, and each part is arranged in chronological order.

This book covers topics related to climate change, weather, greenhouse effect, solar energy, various cycles including carbon, hydraulic, sulphur, renewable energy conservation, ecology and sustainable environment. The contents of the book include pedagogical elements, such as exercises, tables and figures at appropriate places in each chapter, including problems and objective questions at end of each chapter, to aid in learning. Further, the unit conversion from FPS system to SI unit of each parameter, namely length, energy, power, velocity and pressure force, etc, and some standard constants used in examples are also provided in the book. The book also includes discussion about renewable energy sources, namely solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy and geothermal energy, etc, their availability and eco-friendly nature. This book can be a useful reference for those in academia and industry.

The book “Field Manual on Alien Flora of Kashmir Himalaya: Casual, Naturalised and Invasive Plants” has been prepared with two main goals in mind: (i) to promote awareness on the threats of invasive alien plants to biodiversity, ecology and environment, and (ii) to encourage research on, and management of, the alien plants. The Manual contains concise information on the taxonomy, ecology, invasion status, impacts, distribution and illustrated photo-plates of the alien plant species of Kashmir Himalaya, India.

Beetle species belonging to the coleopteran families Bruchidae, Curculionidae, Laemophoeidae, Silvanidae and Tenebrionidae, as well as beetle-like insects from the psocopteran family Liposcelidae, are responsible for serious damages to agricultural products and resources.
