Cardboard sleeve, digitally remastered re-release of Big Star's last album featuring all of their original members. Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) replicates original LP artwork with obi strip, printed inner and lyric sheet in Japanese & English. After Big Star released Radio City, they fell apart, leaving Alex Chilton to record in 1975 what was later released as 3rd (aka Sister Lovers). The album is strikingly different from everything Chilton created before or after. With pained outpourings such as the haunting "Holocaust," it holds its own against rock's greatest monuments to existential angst, from Tonight's the Night to Bryter Layter. It also ranks alongside the Beach Boys' SMiLE as perhaps the only "classic" album with no set sequence. (Chilton never bothered to sequence it because, upon its completion, no label wanted to release it.) It finally came out four years later, and since then, while it has appeared on several labels, no two have used the same track order.
One of the most popular funk groups of the '70s, War were also one of the most eclectic, freely melding soul, Latin, jazz, blues, reggae, and rock influences into an effortlessly funky whole. Although War's lyrics were sometimes political in nature (in keeping with their racially integrated lineup), their music almost always had a sunny, laid-back vibe emblematic of their Southern California roots. War kept the groove loose, and they were given over to extended jamming in fact, many of their studio songs were edited together out of longer improvisations.
Set of Fremeaux’s definitive Integrale Django Reinhardt collection. Mastered by Daniel Nevers, there are 20 volumes of these, and each volume has 2 CDs – 40 CDs total. Each volume also comes with a fairly thick booklet with discography and notes. And the booklets and inserts have very nice B&W pictures of Django. Une réédition d’exception ! Depuis quelques années maintenant, les éditions Frémeaux ont entrepris la publication d’une intégrale des enregistrements de Django Reinhardt.
Dr. Ebbett produced the two volume UK singles collection in 2005 and according to the announcement made at the time of its release: It features the A and B sides of every regular issue British 45 rpm record the Beatles releases during their time together. This set is sourced entirely from 7 inch vinyl records – some of them being the original first-issue Parlophone 45s, some from the vinyl boxed set released in the 1970s…
This is a 10 disc set of Frank Sinatra's work. All 10 of the CDs come in cardboard paper sleeves and they are in a small box set measuring about 5 inches across, 5 inches tall, and 1.25 inches thick. The set contains over 200 songs and would be a great addition to anyone's collection. This would make a wonderful gift for any Sinatra fan or collector. Having received this boxed set as a gift two years ago, and having never seen it advertised for sale anywhere, I had no idea what to expect. First of all, there are no liner notes, so one must have at least a general sense of the chronology of Sinatra's career to really appreciate the treasure trove of music (over 200 songs) contained herein. There are many of his RCA and Columbia pressings, digitally remastered to superb sonic clarity.
