Erased Tapes

A new compilation titled Erased Tapes 十五, encompassing a two hour cross-section of the label's 15-year history including hidden gems and previously unreleased material, will be available on November 4 to coincide with specially curated festivals in London and Berlin.

..And They Have Escaped The Weight Of Darkness is the 2010 album by Icelandic artist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Ólafur Arnalds. This was released on Arnalds' own label Erased Tapes, which means it was made for the fans.

As the label’s tenth anniversary celebrations draw to a close, the latest Erased Tapes compilation, featuring new and unreleased music as well as a selection of its tenth year’s highlights, is now available. Curated and sequenced by Erased Tapes founder Robert Raths, Erased Tapes Collection IX also contains tracks from label favourites including Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Kiasmos and Ben Lukas Boysen, as well as Penguin Cafe Orchestra’s Kora Kora taken from the re-issue of their final studio album Union Cafe.

Initially founded by German-born Robert Raths in 2007, the London-based label has grown and extended across the world with satellite offices in Los Angeles and Berlin. Spanning over ten years, Erased Tapes has nurtured avant-garde artists from all around the world whilst remaining genre-defying and truly independent.

Book Of Life is the 2018 album by Japanese electronic artist Masayoshi Fujita. This was released by Erased Tapes.

Released on March 29, 2021, on the occasion of Piano Day 2021, for the first time on the Erased Tapes label, Graz is the new album by the German pianist-composer Nils Frahm, recorded in 2009, in Mumuth, at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, and never previously released.

Ben Lukas Boysen has made a career out of transforming unusual sounds into compelling music. His first electronic compositions at 18 were experiments with samplers and tape loops leading to an album in 2003 and the subsequent foundation of his own Berlin studio. Since, he has produced multiple albums (many under the alias HECQ), and led numerous workshops on composition and sound aesthetics, as well as creating custom sound design for films, commercials, video games and installations.The Lazarus Project (originally titled Extinction) is a Sky television action drama time loop series from screenwriter Joe Barton and starring Paapa Essiedu.

To mark this year’s 88th day and as an acknowledgement to these unprecedented circumstances we find ourselves in, Piano Day founder, pianist and producer Nils Frahm releases a collection of eight solo piano pieces titled Empty out now.
