Originally released in 1997, Eric Bibb's Me To You album was seen as a major stepping stone in the New York born Bluesters career. After many years of hard work releasing albums and a near constant touring schedule, Me To You finally and deservedly gave Bibb the recognition that he truly deserved. For the release Bibb gathered together some of his personal heroes, including Pops and Mavis Staples, and Taj Mahal to contribute. The results proved to be one of Bibb s most popular and best selling albums.

Eric Bibb is one of the most respected blues singer/songwriters of our time. His music is always reverent, keeping one foot in the blues and folk storytelling traditions. “Whether you’re looking at a former sharecropper, hitchhiking from Clarksdale to Chicago in 1923, or an orphan from Aleppo, in a boat full of refugees in 2016 – it’s migration blues,” Eric says about his new release, Migration Blues. Mainly composed of new tunes, Migration Blues also includes covers of Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War” and Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land.” An arrangement of the traditional “Mornin’ Train,” closes the opus. A re-connection with a musical icon or tradition – it is often the way something new, maybe even game-changing emerges. That was the idea in curator/ producer’s Siggi Loch’s mind when he suggested to Magnus Lindgren that he might look at re-tracing the footsteps of Herbie Mann. “Stockholm Underground” is a homage to the one of the greats of the jazz flute, and to his legendary 1969 album “Memphis Underground”, listed by Rolling Stone in 2013 in the “100 Best Jazz Albums” of all time.

Lunasa is back with a new studio album 'Cas' and a tour of the US starting this February to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. It is their first studio album in seven years and it is also their first recording with vocals, including guest singers who are prominent artists in their own right, that the band has recorded and toured with over the years. These include Natalie Merchant and Mary Chapin Carpenter, top bluegrass singer/songwriter Tim O'Brien, Blues recording artist Eric Bibb and Daoiri Farrell, a young Irish folk singer star who recently won the BBC Radio 2 Folk contest. From Putumayo's children's division, Sing Along With Putumayo is a decent attempt to make an American roots music album engineered for kids. The bulk of the artists here aren't really from the children's music genre at all, but they sweeten their songs a bit for these recordings. The album opens up with a simple folky piece from Arlo Guthrie, then proper kids' songs from bluegrassers Rhonda Vincent and Tim O'Brien.

Mike Vernon is probably best known as the founder of Britain’s #1 blues record label, Blue Horizon. During the four year period that Blue Horizon was distributed by CBS and Polydor, the label issued around 60 singles and more than 100 albums – most of them featuring blues artists.
