Blind Faith was cursed at its very inception by being billed as a supergroup. This was truly a pity, because for all the classic beauty of its only recording, Blind Faith was a band that never had a legitimate opportunity to come together as a performing ensemble. Hyped to the hilt and rushed into a massive, chaotic tour, the band fell apart after its final American concerts when Eric Clapton packed it in to join Delaney & Bonnie's band. Despite the hurried and mysterious nature of the recording of the album Blind Faith, it produced two classic hits "Can't Find My Way Home" and "Presence of the Lord".

Adelmo Fornaciari, more commonly known by his stage name Zucchero Fornaciari or simply Zucchero, is an Italian rock singer and Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. His music is largely inspired by gospel, soul and rock music, and alternates between ballads and more rhythmic boogie-like pieces. Zucchero's voice is gritty and textured, but he sings with a great sensitivity and lyricism, and these same qualities are mirrored in his songwriting. By blending blues, pop, and adult contemporary, Zucchero's music can be quite affecting. He is credited as the "father of Italian blues", introducing blues to the big stage in Italy. Zucchero is one of the few European blues artists who still enjoy great international success.

Hubert Sumlin was a brilliant guitarist who was a Howlin' Wolf sideman and a vast influence on Eric Clapton and Peter Green amongst others. This killer album started with a five-week tour of Europe with these musicians before they hit the UK. There was a lot of songwriting in hotel rooms which paid off handsomely. Here are 5 brand new songs from Hubert, a couple of well thought-out instrumentals and Hubert playing his usual imaginative lead guitar on 3 new songs by Richard Studholme. Musically, it's all tough blues but within that there is tremendous variation ranging from some nice modern touches to a couple of Jimmy Reedish tracks with just two guitars and drums. Altogether a superb team effort and a real revelation.

B.B. King unleashes his inner crooner on this collection of 13 of his sentimental favorites. With a five-piece studio band rather than his usual orchestra, the arrangements stay spare throughout, allowing King to exercise his classic vocal chops. His most heartfelt selection may be "A Mother's Love", a performance that seems to draw on the heartache he still carries from the loss of his own mother when he was a child, nearly 70 years ago.
