Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979, by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson, and drummer Tony Reno. They got a major breakthrough in Sweden in 1982 by winning the televised competition "Rock-SM" (Swedish Rock Championships): it was the first time this competition was held, and Europe became a larger success than the competition itself…

Europe feature core members Joey Tempest, Kee Marcello, Ian Haughland, Michael Michaeli, and John Leven. Originally a prog-rock group, Europe found international success after reworking their sound with the release of 1986's "The Final Countdown", which went top ten both in the UK and the US.
This compilation brings together some of their best loved and biggest hits, including "The Final Countdown" and "Prisoners In Paradise".

Definitive Collection is a compilation album by Europe, released on 30 April 1997 by Sony Music. Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm in 1979 under the name Force by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno. Since its formation, Europe has released ten studio albums, three live albums, three compilations and nineteen videos. Europe rose to international fame in the 1980s with its third album, 1986's The Final Countdown, which sold over three million copies in the United States. Europe sold over 23 million albums worldwide. The band has achieved two top 20 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (The Final Countdown and Out of This World) and two top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart ("The Final Countdown" and "Carrie").
