The new release of the Bay Area Thrashers, The Evolution Of Chaos is absolutely the most stunning representation of technically proficient Thrash since the turn of the new millenium. The variation of song structures, conincided with the overall ability and sheer talent of the musicians within the band rises this album onto a pulpit which overshadows much of whats been released as of recent memory.
Formed in the mid-'80s in San Francisco, Heathen gained a lot of attention through their cover version of Sweet's "Set Them Free." The band debuted with 1987's Breaking the Silence on Combat, and remained popular among bands from the Bay Area for years afterward. A second record, Victims of Deception, appeared on Roadrunner in 1991.
The band's current lineup includes Lee Altus (guitar; EXODUS), Kragen Lum (guitar; PROTOTYPE), Dave White (vocals), Jon Torres (bass; ANGELWITCH) and returning drummer Darren Minter.
