Inspired by the artwork of Roger Dean and the writings of Ver Stanley Alder, Jon Anderson developed an entire story around the idea of an interstellar exodus from Sunhillow, writing this album around the narrative (named for the spaceship's architect, Olias). The idea may seem overly ambitious, but Anderson fills the record with enough magical moments to delight fans of Yes' mystic side. The music is written and performed almost entirely by Anderson, who dubs vocals, plays guitar and harp, and adds percussion and the occasional synthesizer to flesh out his ideas so that at no point does the music lose its spellbinding effect for lack of sonic detail. Olias of Sunhillow is faithful to the spirit of Yes, though decidedly more airy than that band's visceral style - its closest comparison would be Fragile's "We Have Heaven" or Going for the One's "Wonderous Stories"…

Ever the master of soothing atmospheres and chord progressions that spoil the ear, Ashley Wallbridge brings yet another one of his melodic cuts to Gareth Emerys Garuda. Chock-full with sparkling plucks, eargasmic vocal shots, this is one to bring elation to its listeners like no other. Balearic in its vibes, rock-solid in the rest. Stepping forward ever so often as the secret weapon of the A State Of Trance, Willem de Roo is quite the force to be reckoned with. Delivering blows with his anthemic melodies whenever he steps up to the plate, the Dutchman commands waves of energy and power as if they were his personal army.

Saigon Super Sound is the story of a musical era that was almost lost. The selection of tracks is limited to the period between 1965 and 1975, the so-called “Golden Era” in the South ofVietnam, where – under difficult circumstances – a lively pop culture had developed.

The Infinite Divide” is Sequential Dream’s ninth album. Whereas Sequential Dreams’ previous album “The Exodus Wave” had a markedly more rock orientation, this album dials more into the earlier influences of the Berlin School electronic music genre. Although guitars are still a part of the compositions, synthesizers and sequences were intended as the main instruments for this album. This said, as with the theme of philosophical and metaphysical “Duality” hinted at by the album title, the music gradually transitions from the more synthesizer-centric sound to eventually incorporate some of the more electronic rock vibes for which Sequential Dreams albums is known for…
