“Nine” is the second album of Swedish band Platitude. “Nine” offers everything in between AOR/melodic hard rock and progressive metal, sounds familiar, original and refreshing all at the same time, does not contain a single weak song - even bonus track “Supernova” is better than what most bands release these days - and has a sublime production by renowned knob twister Jacob Hansen.

TNT follows up their excellent debut with the more commercially leaning Tell No Tales. Although the album's leadoff single, "10,000 Lovers," gave TNT some limited attention in commercial radio and on MTV, American audiences never really warmed up to the band's pristine Euro-metal. Underneath the slick, soulless-sounding production sheen and sometimes clichéd songwriting lies a very talented band that is hungry for mainstream acceptance. With a level of musicianship higher than the average hair metal band, Norway's TNT offered a prog-tinged take on pop-metal due largely to the stunning vocal range of lead singer Tony Harnell and the guitar technique of Ronni Le Tekrø.

Tom Jans began his career as a partner of Mimi Fariña's in the late '60s, spent a fair chunk of the '70s gunning for a soft rock crossover hit, then died under mysterious circumstances in 1984, two years after recording what wound up as his final album. In the process, he built up a strong body of work, highlighted by "Loving Arms," a song turned into a hit by Dobie Gray and covered frequently by country and R&B singers including Elvis Presley, Glen Campbell, Etta James, and Kenny Rogers.
