‘Transitus’ is the new studio album of Ayreon. It builds around an entirely new story, not connected to the Ayreon universe although as always it does have some subtle links. The sci-fi theme makes way for a gothic ghost story set (partly) in the 19th century with elements of horror and the supernatural. It’s on a dark thunderous night where our story of Abby and Daniel begins.

7 for 4's new album starts with Diffusion, which introduces us with a mellow jazzy guitar line. 7 For 4 didn't change their recipe: as with the previous albums, it soon changes for a rock-metal style which could remind me of the band Royal Hunt without lyrics. It's always cut by jazzy lines on bass and guitar, hard to hate, really. It's followed by Indigo Dunes, where the keyboards have a sound similar to the ones used by Liquid Tension Experiment, and a similar use too. In Overall, this track has a slower tempo than most of what 7 for 4 gave us by the past, but it's nonetheless really interesting, especially when considering the basslines taking their places in there. A really balanced piece, one of the best on the CD in my opinion. …

PULSAR's third album, issued in 1977, "Halloween" is generally considered one of the ten best symphonic albums in the world. A masterpiece of refinement, sold out for a long time and at last reissued with a wonderful 16-page booklet that includes biography, photos, words and history of the band from Lyon. Definitely indispensable for all progressive rock fans!

Greta Garbo (Stoccolma 1905 - New York 1990), nata in Svezia, naturalizzata americana nel 1951, è stata l'attrice per eccellenza degli anni '20 e '30 (e non solo). La Divina era partita dal nulla, sbarcata ventenne a Hollywood fortemente voluta da Louis B. Mayer della MGM, scortata dal suo pigmalione, il regista finlandese Mauritz Stiller, presto incanta e convince: il cinema americano e mondiale non potrà più fare a meno di lei. Sopravvive a tutto: al ritorno in Europa di Stiller, alla fine del grande amore con il divo del muto John Gilbert e, soprattutto, al passaggio dai film muti a quelli parlati (che decretò la fine della carriera di tanti colleghi, come Gilbert, mentre rinforzò definitivamente la sua). Col crescere della sua fama, aumenta in modo direttamente proporzionale la sua resistenza a raccontarsi in interviste, concedersi agli ammiratori, presenziare alle conferenze stampa..

A pair of groovy albums from Ray Conniff – both with a wonderful 70s vibe! "Alone Again Naturally" takes its title from the leadoff version of the great Gilbert O'Sullivan tune – and Ray conducts his group with a surprisingly bouncy vibe at times – mostly a sing-song mode that has the voices of the Conniff Singers hitting all their best bright modes. "Theme From The Godfather" has Ray Conniff taking on a host of mellow tunes from the mid 70s – mixing his full arrangements with a few electric touches, and really using the Ray Conniff Singers to their best effect! The whole thing has that subtle sensual quality that easy listening was hitting during the sexual revolution – quite a change from the Conniff groove of a generation before, and one that seems an even better fit for the vocals.

This 1987 release is absolutely one of Kiki's very best albums. She makes a welcome return back to doing rock songs, but it also has other influences as well. Definitely a touch of alternative modern rock on songs like "I'll Build A Tower Over You" (with an uncredited Daryl Hall featured), "Pay", "We Cry On", and the hard edged "Knowing You Like I Do". But that's not all as there are some superior ballads like "Stay Close To Me" and "Angel Eyes" - both dreamy, perfect pop ballads produced magnificently by Patrick Seymour. And Dave Stewart of Eurythmics produced "Another Day Comes (Another Day Goes)", an uptempo modern rock song with a gospel choir & horns! How this album missed being a hit is puzzling, but then it was never released in the US either. Finally, EMI has corrected the situation with reissuing this Kiki classic that you have got to hear.
