Comprised of recordings taken from 1975 tours, the live Stupidity finally captures the relentless, hard-driving energy of Dr. Feelgood at their peak. All the music on Stupidity is presented raw and without overdubs, making it clear that the dynamic friction between guitarist Wilko Johnson and vocalist Lee Brilleaux could propel the band toward greatness. While many of the versions here don't differ in form from the original studio versions, these unvarnished performances are considerably more exciting, revealing the Johnson originals "She Does It Right" and "All Through the City" as minor rock & roll classics.

Presumably because the focus is on Johnson and his slashing Telecaster, there are some odd omissions – no "She Does It Right" or "I Can Tell," no "Stupidity" – but that hardly diminishes from what is here, because every cut is high-octane rock, proof that for a brief period of time Dr. Feelgood were serious contenders for the title of best rock & roll band on the planet. It's so good, in fact, that you'll wind up wanting more, so it's a good thing there's a box out there that has it all.

Dr. Feelgood topped the Billboard 200 chart, being the first album Mötley Crüe had recorded after their quest for sobriety and rehabilitation in 1989. In addition to being Mötley Crüe's bestselling album, it is widely regarded by music critics and fans as being their strongest. Dr. Feelgood has sold more than 6 million copies in the U.S. alone, and went Gold in the U.K.. In various interviews, members of Mötley Crüe stated that it was their most solid album from a musical standpoint, due in no small part to their collective push for sobriety.

Willie Perryman went by two nicknames during his lengthy career, both of them thoroughly apt. He was known as Piano Red because of his albino skin pigmentation for most of his performing life. But they called him Dr. Feelgood during the '60s, and that's precisely what his raucous, barrelhouse-styled vocals and piano were guaranteed to do: cure anyone's ills and make them feel good. Like his older brother, Rufus Perryman, who performed and recorded as Speckled Red, Willie Perryman showed an aptitude for the 88s early in life. At age 12, he was banging on the ivories, influenced by Fats Waller but largely his own man. He rambled some with blues greats Barbecue Bob, Curley Weaver, and Blind Willie McTell during the 1930s (and recorded with the latter in 1936), but mostly worked as a solo artist.

The legendary British rhythm'n'blues band Dr Feelgood return with 'Damn Right!', their first album of all original material. Up until now, the group have nearly always mixed covers with self-penned songs but for their latest release guitarist Gordon Russell and singer Robert Kane have come up with eleven new tracks meaning there's not a cover version in sight. Damn Right! was recorded in Southend and reunited the group with world renowned bassist Dave Bronze in his other role as producer.

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band formed in 1971. The band's name derives from a slang term for heroin or for a doctor who is willing to overprescribe drugs. The group's original distinctively British R&B sound was centred on Wilko Johnson's choppy guitar style. Although their most commercially productive years were the early to mid 1970s, they continue to tour and record to this day.
