When you open this gatefold (4 parts) CD and album, you will find a glorious tribute to Scott Finch & Gypsy. If you continue to read you will also find that Jimi Hendrix and the 60's psychedelic period of music is the entire focus of this project. I really have come to appreciate the genius of Hendrix as time passes. I also realize for the short time that he was on this earth that he left us with some of the most incredible blues-rock that we have ever heard, or may ever hear again.
In fact this is the most complete and most symphonic album by Dutch band Finch from the Hague. Unfortunately there had been this dramatic turn of the tide in which Punk rock flushed away all good music without having been carefully listened to. This appeared to be fatal for a quality band like Finch and "The Galleons Of Passion" sadly sunk away in an ocean of musical oblivion. True progfans however should certainly check out this album, because it shows Finch at their best.

ndispenable classic progressive rock album taking the band in a different direction than that explored on their classic debut album ("Glory Of The Inner Force"). There are only 3 nice long songs on this album and is much more exploratory than their debut album. Finch were well known for being an unpredictable band blending chunky hard driving parts with more spacey softer subdued interludes. Once again a fair amount of analog keyboards are utilized with some lovely moog and mellotron runs. At times Finch sound like Yes trying to perform Perpetual Change while on speed… Without a question the center piece of Finch is the Les Paul guitar work of Joop Van Nimwegen who performs some highly technical and full bodied parts.
