Susie Arioli celebrates the spirit of renewal with the rousing rhythms of her album Spring. Brimming with energy and passion, Susie Arioli is back with a new album, Spring, where lively, bounding rhythms set the beat for a renewed approach. An album where the singer gives free rein to both her singing and her writing skills, inspired by the frequencies of an ensemble that groups together illustrious representatives of the jazz elite. Displaying an irresistible sensitivity and drive, Susie applies a special verve to the formidable musical canvas served up by a band under the direction of renowned multi-instrumentalist and arranger Don Thompson. Faithful to her roots, she brings her personal signature to bear on a number of jazz standards – and then happily surprises us with four songs of her own making in a deftly managed premiere as a singer-songwriter.

Seven-and-a-half thousand kilometres of cold ocean separate West Africa from Haiti. But music can cover that distance in a heartbeat, crossing the Atlantic to reunite the rhythms and religion of people torn from their homes to be sold into slavery on the Caribbean island. And on its self-titled album, the Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra honours those ghosts of the past even as it walks steadfastly and hopefully into the future.

G.E.N.E. (Grooving Electronic Natural Environments) is a Canadian New Age instrumental band. The idea of this world-famous project was born in June 1987, during a conversation under the stars around a campfire and tents on the shore of the lake in the Canadian woods. That night, Cleo de Mallio took the first steps in a musical odyssey that is still not completed. The conversation was carried on the nature and technology, the world and machines, the new digital sound and lofty emotions. Father of the project and the producer is Michael Weisser - founding member of the German band Software, one of the disciples of the legendary Klaus Schulze, the founder of the company's IC/Digit music, on which he produced G.E.N.E. and Software…

The music of Scriabin and Janacek - contrasting and highly eccentric composers dear to Stephen Hough’s heart - make for a perfect recital. The sensual perfumes of the one intertwine with the disruptive obsessions of the other, and Hough the magician tightens his spell.

Jazz, Hard Bop | MP3 320 kbps CBR | 43 min | 106 MB
Label: RCA | Rel:1975

This is one of the greatest albums ever from Duško Gojković, a set that follows strongly in his Swinging Macedonia session mood from a decade before, and which, like that one, mixes up jazz with a range of Eastern European influences. Slavic Mood is recorded in October 1974 in Rome for the Vista label, a division of RCA specializing in Italian jazz. The tracks are all originals by Gojković, played by a quintet that is heavy on modal rhythms and warmly rolling grooves, a style that would be right at home on the MPS label, but which has gotten very little exposure over the years, thanks to the rarity of this Italian-only release.
