For Whom The Bell Tolls Metallica

Second album by Metallica, "Ride The Lightning", was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at the Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. The artwork, based on a concept by the band, depicts an electric chair in the midst of a thunderstorm. The title was taken from a passage in Stephen King's novel The Stand. Although rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical maturity and lyrical sophistication. This was partly because bassist Cliff Burton introduced the basics of music theory to the rest of the band and had more input in the songwriting. Instead of relying strictly on fast tempos as on Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened its approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies. "S&M" (an abbreviation of Symphony and Metallica) is a live album by the American heavy metal band Metallica, with The San Francisco Symphony conducted by Michael Kamen. It was recorded on April 21–22, 1999 at The Berkeley Community Theatre. This is the final Metallica album to feature Jason Newsted as bassist.

"Live Shit: Binge & Purge" is the first live album by Metallica. The initial first pressings contained three CDs or cassette tapes, with songs from concerts in Mexico City on the Nowhere Else to Roam tour, as well as three VHS tapes and a black T-shirt, while a newer version contains two DVDs from concerts in San Diego on the Wherever We May Roam Tour and Seattle on the Damaged Justice Tour. It was originally released as a cardboard box depicting the style of a typical tour equipment transport box.

"Metallica: Through the Never" is a soundtrack album for the film of the same name, consisting of live recordings by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on September 24, 2013 via Blackened Recordings and has charted in several countries. All tracks on the soundtrack are live recordings from the Canadian shows at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta on August 17 and 18, 2012 and Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 24, 25 and 27, 2012, with the exception of "Orion" that was recorded live at soundcheck.
