Foreigner In Concert

While quite a few arena rock acts of the '70s found it difficult to sustain their popularity beyond that decade, several acts continued to flourish and enjoyed some of their biggest commercial success: Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and especially Foreigner. Foreigner's leader from the beginning has been British guitarist Mick Jones, who first broke into the music biz as a "hired gun" of sorts, appearing on recordings by George Harrison and Peter Frampton, and as part of a latter-day version of hard rockers Spooky Tooth. By the mid-'70s, Jones had relocated to New York City, where he was a brief member of the Leslie West Band and served as an A&R man for a record company. But it wasn't long before Jones felt the urge to be part of another rock outfit as he sought to put together a band that would be able to combine elements of rock, progressive, R&B, and pop into a single, cohesive style.

Besides founding member and leader Mick Jones on lead guitar and vocals, the band s line up consists of Kelly Hansen (Ex-Hurricane) as lead singer, Tom Gimbel ( Aerosmith) on guitar, saxophone, flute, and backing vocals; Jeff Jacobs on keyboards, Jeff Pilson (Ex-Dokken, Dio and MSG) on bass; and Jason Bonham (son of Led Zeppelin's drummer John Bonham) on drums.

This spectacular concert was recorded on November 26th, 2005 at Texas Station in Las Vegas and features one of the first live appearances of Foreigner with their lead vocalist and performance master Kelly Hansen. Hansen debuted in March of the same year and has been a steady part of Foreigner ever since. The show features all the hits that made Foreigner a legend, such as ,,Cold As Ice", ,,Waiting For A Girl Like You", or ,,I Want To Know What Love Is" and is quite a great add on to every collection. And Foreigner is far more than a convincing live act - They're a real force! Previously released as part of the limited edition of CAN'T SLOW DOWN, which is sold out due to the great demand, these recordings are now available as standalone CD for the first time.

A concert Foreigner performed in London in support of their debut album is getting released as Live at the Rainbow '78.
Filmed on April 27, 1978, at the Rainbow Theatre, the concert features performances of all 10 songs from Foreigner, including the hits "Feels Like the First Time" and "Cold as Ice."

Styx was one of the titans of the hugely popular AOR movement – along with Boston, Foreigner, Journey, and REO Speedwagon – embraced by the U.S. mainstream in the late '70s and early '80s.
