Midge Ure, mastermind of Ultravox, founder of Band Aid & Live 8, Grammy Award Winner & Brit Award Winner presents his new studio album 'Fragile'. 'Fragile' is the first collection of new, original music from Grammy and Brit award winning musician Midge Ure in over a decade. "I have recorded various things over that period" Ure states "a covers album of favourite songs, a few live CD's and of course the latest Ultravox album Brilliant, so I haven't been slacking. I just never felt the need to write and release an album just for the sake of it". 'Fragile' is a culmination of influences garnered from a lifetime in the music business and shows elements of Ure's musical journey displaying his accomplished guitar work (Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy) and the electronics and technology he has utilised since the late 1970's (Visage, Ultravox).

After gaining some recognition from the success of the band's previous album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive got around to recording Not Fragile. Not only had one of the three Bachman brothers (Tim, the rhythm guitarist) left the band to BTO's advantage, but Randy Bachman and C.F. Turner had clearly grown musically. To the album's benefit, most of the material on Not Fragile are the band's much-liked rock anthems, ranging from the hyper-distorted title track, through the famous but far more timid song "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet." Indeed, for hard rock fanatics, it doesn't come much better than on Not Fragile.

With the release of Fragile, Yes established themselves as one of the most progressive rock bands on the scene. With the recent addition of towering, silver-caped Rick Wakeman on keyboards, they raised their innovative brand of music to even dizzier heights. "Roundabout," which is still a standard on classic rock playlists, is an unusual track, coming in under four minutes, while "Heart of the Sunrise"–with its varied constituents molded together perfectly–goes on for as long as it needs. ~ Paul Clark
